Campus
Campus Solna, located in the emerging district of Hagastaden, is an area strongly characterised by research and education. In addition to Karolinska Institutet (KI), there are also government agencies, institutes and companies, all with links to education and research in medicine and health. In total, more than 4000 people research, work and study on campus.
Campus Solna has a long tradition of research, featuring historic buildings that we continuously develop and refine. The campus's inner areas consist of classic brick architecture that reflects traditional campus ideas, with open courtyards and park settings. In collaboration with KI, we are committed to preserving the original structures while evolving the campus to meet future needs.
We have complemented the historic buildings with new, advanced laboratories and architecturally significant structures. A prime example is Gert Wingårdh’s impressive Aula Medica, symbolizing the modern and innovative progress of the campus. The area is also gaining a new urban frontage along Solnavägen, with tall buildings and modern facades that create a dynamic and inspiring environment for research and education.

At Campus Solna, sustainability is a natural part of development. We promote biodiversity through meadows, fruit trees and 20,000 planted bulb plants, and preserve nature by relocating trees instead of cutting them down. To encourage sustainable travel, we offer excellent cycling facilities, electric vehicle charging stations and public transport connections. The campus is characterised by green surroundings, outdoor gyms and safety-enhancing measures. With solar panels, smart energy management and a 50% reduction in energy use over the past 25 years, we take responsibility for the future. Reuse and climate budgeting are an integral part of our projects, and shared spaces, public art, free weekly instructor-led exercise sessions and effective water management solutions all contribute to a vibrant and sustainable campus.

There are many ways to get to Campus Solna and Karolinska Institutet. The easiest way is to use SL's app to find the best way for you to get there - http://sl.se
Staff and visitors by car are directed to paid parking spaces within Campus Solna. Fees can be paid via app (Aimo Park), parking meter or monthly card.
The Skruven parking garage at Tomtebodavägen 5B has 523 indoor spaces and 20 outdoor spaces, charging facilities for electric cars and indoor bicycle parking. The parking garage is open 6 a.m.–10 p.m. with the option to pick up your car 24 hours a day.
There is a heated garage in Biomedicum with entrance from Solnavägen 11. There are 145 indoor parking spaces, of which 30 spaces have charging facilities for electric cars. The garage is open 24 hours a day.
When paying via app and machine in Skruven and Biomedicum, you will receive a code that can be used to re-enter the garage. Contact Aimo Park's customer service on 0771-96 90 00 if you have any questions about this.

Vehicles with a disability permit park free of charge on Campus Solna. Special spaces are available near entrances or in other visitor parking lots. If spaces are full, you may park freely on campus with a disability permit, provided you do not block traffic.
Motorcyclists park for free on the Akademiska Hus campus in Stockholm. Please use the designated motorcycle parking spaces. For safety reasons and to maintain accessibility, parking is not permitted at the entrances.
